Who we are

Preserve the SLO Life is an Unincorporated Association of SLO city and county residents, business owners and others who believe growth can be accommodated, but it should be done sustainably and with the utmost care for our natural and human environments in order to preserve our unique way of life on the Central Coast.

We have a Board of Directors. Jim Waldsmith, DVM is the President; Kathy Borland is Secretary/Treasurer.

Goals

  • Provide guidance in creating neighborhood engagement through leadership training

  • Maintain visibility to the community through social media, radio, facebook, twitter, Instagram, journals/newspapers, speaking engagements

  • Support neighborhood interaction with city, county and other municipat or regulatory bodies

  • Website will be interactive and provide current information on all issues and projects

  • Provide expert resources in areas of concern (environment, traffic, air quality, noise, etc)

  • Networking with other community groups who are or have been in similar situations

Outcomes

  • PTSL will be respected by community leaders and the constituents of SLO and surrounding areas through communication and education

  • PTSL will be known as a community group that strives for community health and environmental wellness while growing at a pace tyhat does not harm the residents and their quality of life

  • PTSL will be respected and understood by all age groups whether they are homeowners, renter, or striving to purchase a home

 

Success

  • PTSL is known for providing accurate, up-to-date information on areas of concern

  • PTSL is non-partisan and research driven

  • PTSL utilizes experts and does their homework on issues

  • PTSL will be successful in managing growth and improving infrastructure which translates to improved quality of life for SLO and surrounding areas

Preserve the SLO Life’s goal is to ensure that public and private growth-related projects are done in a manner that protects and enhances the natural and human environments that make up what has become known as The SLO Life!

Networking

Preserve the SLO Life is building a network of people and resources in SLO and the surrounding areas to support one another by advocating, educating, and achieving or improving solution-based decision-making to support local neighborhood groups.
